I am Arul Prakash Samathuvamani. Over the years, technology revolutionised our world. Internet changed the way we communicate, opened up new opportunities. Enhanced computation opened doors to new possibilities for problem solving. Technology empowers people. It changes lives of thousands. I am motivated to work towards developing technologies that would potentially impact thousands of people.

I am Proficient in C, C++ and Python and have a functional Knowledge of Java, Kotlin. I have understanding of several algorithmic techniques to solve a problem.

RTL Design

RTL Design and Verification using Verilog HDL. Designed various IP Cores for Altera FPGA Boards. Proficient in Quartus and Vivado Design Suite. Designed RISC-V IP Cores, RTL Design for DDR Memory.

Embedded Systems

Strong knowledge of C. Knowledge of ARM architectures. Understanding of industry standard IO Bus architecture. Experience with Linux Operating System. Use of TCL Scripts for Automation tasks. Knowledge of ARM for Digital Signal Processing. Experienced with CUDA Parallel Processing Architectures.

Machine Learning

Ability to apply various learning techniques in machine learning and deep learning applications. Worked with Numpy, Scipy, PyTorch, Pandas and TensorFlow libraries.

Experience

Engineer – Voice & Music Application on Chip Embedded Software Engineer – Qualcomm – 2022 – Present

Developed firmware for Qualcomm’s wide range of V&M and Wearables chipsets.

Responsible for writing embedded middleware/ Board Support Package (BSP) in on-chip processors.

Coded in ‘C’ in resource constrained environment multi-processor environment. Troubleshooted and resolved system issues ranging across multiple firmware layers interacting with sub-systems in chip.

Responsible for taking ownership and delivering software on timescale agreed with Program Manager.

Rocket Engineer – Avionics – Leeds University Rocketry Association – 2021

Designing and building the failproof circuitry that will control the rocket’s functions. Designed Launch Controls for Gryphon I Rocket . Part of design team responsible for flight computers controlling throttle functions of the rocket during ascent and ensuring safe ejection of parachutes during descent phase.

School Representative – University of Leeds, School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering – 2021 to Present

PGT School Representative for School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering during 20/21 academic year. Working closely with Staff, Senate and wider University to represent interests of students of School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering and taking care of their welfare during thier time at the university. Also elected as Course Representative for MSc. Communications and Signal Processing.

Le-Commentator – Full Stack Developer and Editor – Technology – 2019 to Present

Responsible of development of Le-Commentator. Work includes Web Development using WordPress. Improving Web Load times by leveraging the use of S3 Bucket combined with AWS CloudFront. Automating tasks like image compressing using AWS Lambda and S3. Automated the task of backing up all works to AWS S3 Glacier. Android Application development using REST API. Developing personalized user feed by using user data stored on DynamoDB and AWS Lambda.

TEDc MIT – Founder and Chairman – 2017 to 2018

Founder of TEDc MIT. Overlooking day to day activities which includes raising funds for non-profit initiatives, organizing meetings with various government and private entities to increase industry and university collaboration in technical front. Organizing Innovate, a not for profit talk show overlooking tasks of increasing audience base leading teams which includes sponsorship, digital and non-digital marketing. TEDc MIT is now one of the most successful student clubs at Madras Institute of Technology.

Electronics Engineers Association – 2016 to 2018

Lead the design and development of backend server infrastructure for EEA student activities. Responsible for development of websites for EEA and Electrofocus. The website for Electrofocus had a daily visitor count of more than 10000. Handled load of wireless network infrastructure by efficiently planning access points. The same team was responsible for handling technical challenges at various other events.
